Original Creation

Hobo Bluff Lighthouse

Wayne Coley Art 11 Jun 2020

I love lighthouses, and have painted dozens over the years. But, I have to admit this is one of my favorites. Painted exclusively using Bob Ross paints and brushes, this painting was claimed by my wife and now graces the wall in our home.

A very lovely dimensionality on the lighthouse. Also I really enjoy that dramatic sky and low horizon. Great stuff!

Lighthouse is amazing! So real! Awesome job!

Wonderful painting. Despite the sky being very striking and the angles being wonderful, what I particularly enjoyed was the address on the little house. You really did not forgo any detail when painting this. Great work!

The address represents the year I was born lightsnow. I try to incorporate that year into my paintings when I can. Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

I love anything by the sea. This is an awesome creation!

It’s a beautiful painting

Lighthouses are a bit of an obsession for me. I've lived most of my life 40 miles from the west coast of Lake Michigan so I've visited many a lighthouse. This one reminds me a great deal of Point Betsie. Point Betsie has a museum and you can climb the tower for a stunning view. It's really beautiful.
I'd give my left pinkie toe to be able to paint any lighthouse as well as you painted this one! 😍

This is lovely. I particularly like the glass panels at the top. The flowers at the bottom are brilliant, which one of bob's brushes did you use for those please?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I used an older Script Liner brush on the flowers. The worn bristles helped define the shapes better. I also added a touch of Liquid White to the mixtures of yellows and greens.
